The wind power plant of Ares S.r.l., named “Parco Bella” (Bella Wind Farm) consists of 15 WTGs having an overall power capacity of 62.25MW. The project is being developed in the municipalities of Bella (13 WTGs), Avigliano (1 WTG) and Ruoti (1 WTG), at “Monte Caruso” and “Toppe di Atella”. Several auxiliary works and essential NTG connecting facilities will be located in the municipalities of Atella and Potenza.
The works (WTGs, access roads, cable networks, electrical station and distribution stations) are marked on the following topographic maps provided by the Italian mapping agency (Military Geographic Institute, IGM):

- Sheet no. 452 – Rionero in Vulture;
- Sheet no. 469 – Muro Lucano;
- Sheet no. 470 – Potenza.

- Sheet no. 187 I SW (Ripacandida);

- Sheet no. 187 II SW (Avigliano).
The WTGs to be installed are Vestas V136, 14 of 3.6 MW and one of 1.04 MW. They are supported by conical tubular steel towers with hub heights ranging from 112 m and 82 m (WTG A09-A12) and a rotor diameter of 136 m.
The wind farm will be connected to a 30/150 kV user transforming station to be located in the municipality of Potenza and from here, through a 150 kV internal cable, to the new Terna station named “SE Avigliano”, in the municipality of Potenza.
Given the need to establish a provisional link on the TNG 150kV ““Avigliano – Potenza” line,
the existing provisional facilities of the company Serra Carpaneto 3 S.r.l. will be used for no longer than is necessary
to complete the final connection scheme, as agreed with Terna.
To minimise the network facilities, the Terna’s bay has been shared with the other companies that are in the course of developing similar projects in the same area. A so-called “shared area” has indeed been envisaged, for the various producers to be able to transfer all the power to one bus bar system which will be connected to the Terna station by means of a cable line.
As referred to in the authorisation for the project, this includes the implementation of:
- a 150/30 kV user electrical transforming station;
- a 150 kV switching station to be built jointly with other producers;
- a new HV bay, shared with other producers, to be built in the Terna’s 150 kV station;
- grid plant for connection.
